Celebrate the magic of matcha in style because our third annual #NationalMatchaDay is here!
We declared May 2nd, 2021 the first ever National Matcha Day to celebrate our love (let's be totally honest - our obsession!) with all things matcha, including the beautiful culture and craft involved in making our beloved vibrant green powder, along with the generations of tea farmers and masters whose passion and expertise we proudly strive to share with our community. National Matcha Day comes every May 2nd!
Why did we select May 2nd as National Matcha Day?
On May 2nd, Japan celebrates Hachiju Hachiya, also called the "88th Night" on the traditional Japanese calendar. This auspicious day marks the start of the Spring tea harvest, and it's a time of celebration for tea farmers across the country. For matcha lovers, it's the perfect occasion to honor the hard work and dedication of these farmers.
So, how can you celebrate?
Enjoy matcha on this day and share your matcha love with your friends! Whether you're a seasoned matcha enthusiast or a curious newcomer, let's raise our cups (or matcha cookies...) to toast the start of a new season and new beginnings. Cheers to this exciting matcha celebration and our amazing community!
