WHAT IS MATCHA BUTTER?
Matcha butter is exactly what it sounds like: matcha and butter mixed together. This is a treat our Brand Manager Jules indulges in often. Seriously- here is everything you’ll need to make matcha butter:
- Matcha (you can use our Culinary Grade Matcha, but any of our Pure Matcha Grade offerings will do)
- Your favorite bread, for spreading the matcha butter
- Salt, to top it all off
HOW DO YOU MAKE MATCHA BUTTER?
To make matcha butter, sift matcha over a softened block of butter, and then thoroughly mix it in using a fork or spoon, until the matcha and butter are completely combined.
We recommend using Kerrygold unsalted butter and our Ceremonial Grade Matcha for the ultimate matcha butter experience!
HOW MUCH MATCHA SHOULD I USE?
As much as you want! We recommend using 1 tablespoon for 8 ounces of butter, but if you like a stronger matcha flavor, go with 1 ½ tablespoons or more of matcha.
WHAT KIND OF BREAD GOES BEST WITH MATCHA BUTTER?
Any bread will do, but a nice thick slice of chewy sourdough bread takes this snack to the next level!
WHAT KIND OF SALT SHOULD I USE TO TOP MY MATCHA BUTTER & BREAD?
Maldon sea salt is ideal! Don’t skip this step- the salt really enhances the flavors.
