Spicy Yuzu Matcha Aioli

Jules Reyes

Did you know that adding matcha to savory foods is a fun and creative way to elevate your dishes? Try our Japanese-inspired aioli with some of your favorite savory dishes!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp Culinary Grade Matcha powder
  • 1/2 cup Japanese mayonnaise
  • 1 tbs yuzu juice (more if you want it to be tangier)
  • sesame chili oil

Steps

  • Combine mayonnaise and yuzu juice in a small bowl.
  • Sift in matcha powder and add it to your mayonnaise. Note: the matcha flavor won't be as prominent. The addition of matcha in this savory application adds a beautiful light green shade to your aioli. If you'd like a stronger matcha flavor to come through, feel free to add more matcha (to taste).
  • Drizzle 4-5 drops of sesame chili oil on top of your aioli upon serving.
  • Place in an airtight container and store in the fridge for up 7 days.
  • Use as a dipping sauce for your savory dishes. It tastes great with french fries, tempura, dumplings, and tastes amazing drizzled on top of our Crispy Matcha Rice with Spicy Tuna!
