Matcha Champagne

Jules Reyes

Did you know that you can add matcha to some of your favorite bubbly (alcoholic) beverages like Champagne, Prosecco, White Wine, Rosé... you name it. This is a fun way to celebrate (or unwind) with matcha. Tag us on Instagram @jadeleafmatcha to show us how fancy you are :)

Ingredients

Makes 1 drink

  • 1/2 tsp Jade Leaf Ceremonial Grade Matcha (you can also use our Barista or Culinary Grade)
  • 4-6 oz of Champagne (or a beverage of your choice, non-alcoholic options like sparkling apple cider work well, too)

Steps

  • Matcha a matcha shot! Sift matcha powder into a bowl or mug. Note: sifting is an important step to ensure that you get rid of any large clumps
  • Pour 2 oz of your beverage over the matcha (I don't recommend using water for the matcha shot as it will dilute the finished beverage). Use a bamboo whisk or electric frother to mix until all the clumps are gone
  • Pour matcha shot into the base of your champagne flute, wine glass, or tall glass
  • Slowly top the matcha shot off by pouring your champagne (or beverage of your choice) over. The key is to do this slowly to prevent the drink from over flowing.
  • Add prism powder or edible glitter if you're feeling extra fancy
  • Pinkies up! Sip and enjoy :)
