Halloween Recipe: The (Creepier) Creeper Cocktail Recipe

Jules Reyes

Remember our Creeper Cocktail? Here's a creepier version to enjoy during your (virtual) Halloween party! It's perfectly balanced and has bright, refreshing notes from the cucumber and subtle citrus notes from the yuzu.

Makes 1 cocktail

  • 1 tsp of Barista Edition Matcha
  • 1 1/2 - 2 oz of gin
  • 1 tbs grenadine
  • 1/2 oz of yuzu juice or fresh lime juice
  • 1 pinch of julienned Shiso Leaf (I found some at my local Asian Market, if you aren't able to get your hands on some, julienned fresh mint will do)
  • Cucumber soda (here are some great options I've tried: option 1 or option 2)
  • Eyeball gummies

Additional tools you'll need:

  • Cocktail shaker (or mason jar)
  • Cocktail strainer

  • Add a scoop of ice into your cocktail shaker along with the gin, shiso leaf (or mint), grenadine, and yuzu or lime juice
  • Shake for 10-15 seconds
  • Strain the cocktail into your glass, add ice and eyeball gummies
  • Pour 2-4 oz of cucumber soda into your glass. Leave room near the top of your glass for your matcha shot.
  • Make your matcha shot! Add 2 oz of water and Barista Edition Matcha into a small mason jar and shake until frothy
  • Top off your cocktail with your matcha shot
  • Pinkies up & enjoy!
